After completing a daily clean, extreme cleaning, or hoarding clearance, visual inspection alone is not enough. Invisible organic residues — such as traces of faeces, bodily fluids, bacteria, or mould — can remain on surfaces and pose ongoing health risks.
That’s why we have the ability to use professional ATP Testing (Adenosine Triphosphate) as a key part of our cleaning validation process. This advanced technology gives us objective, scientific evidence that a property has been restored to a safe and hygienic standard.
An ATP machine (also called an ATP luminometer or ATP meter) is a handheld device that measures levels of adenosine triphosphate — an energy molecule found in all living cells, including bacteria, mould, and organic matter from bodily fluids or waste.
Using a simple swab, our technicians test high-touch or high-risk surfaces. The swab is inserted into the ATP machine, which produces an instant reading in Relative Light Units (RLU). Lower readings mean fewer organic residues and a cleaner, safer surface.
ATP testing is particularly valuable for hoarded properties, homes affected by severe neglect, incontinence, or faecal contamination, and any situation where returning the space to a habitable condition is critical.
We can include ATP testing on request across our biohazard and cleaning services. Contact us today for a confidential assessment — we’ll show you the science behind our results.
